Perlite is 100% natural siliceous volcanic mineral (amorphous Volcanic glass), formed by the sudden cooling and solidification of volcanic ash,
which traps crystalline water into its mass.Expanded perlite is a lightweight soil conditioner, loosens clay soil, reduces caking, improves drainage and aeration.
Blend with peat moss and perlite for custom soilless mix. Can be used to start seeds, propagate cuttings and store bulbs.
√ Improves aeration & drainage
√ Makes moisture & nutrients readily available to plants
√ Is inorganic & doesn't deteriorate
√ Has essentially neutral PH of 6.5 to 7.5
√ Serves as an insulator to reduce extreme soil temperature fluctuations
√ Is sterile and free of weeds & diseases
√ Is clean, odorless, lightweight and safe to handle
√ Non-toxic, flavorless etc.
Loss on ignition (chemical/combined water): 3-5%
Expansion Rate (one time): 7-8
pH (of water slurry, 20ºC): 6.5 - 7.5
Main Sizes: 1-2mm, 1-3mm, 2-4mm, 3-6mm, 4-8mm, 5-8mm...
Our perlite products have proven themselves as a consistent growing media for horticulture because they improve the characteristics of every organic material they are mixed with including peat moss, compost, bark, coir, or in native soil.
Horticultural grade perlite is stable and will not degrade or compact over time.
It maintains consistent aeration and drainage for plant roots and will not decompose or deplete nitrogen levels in the soil.
Adding perlite to soil and growing media lightens the soil and introduces pore spaces that allow air and water to penetrate the root system.
